ARTIST STATEMENT

I see my paintings like individual tarot cards. Each being a psyche instigator that could be understood in a variety of ways according to the specific viewer’s unique contemplations of the works. Imagery generally arrives on its own accord without prior contemplation or concern of what will appear. I strive to delve under the surface of things; an ever changing, loose intersection between what is known and what is not. My painting process is guided largely by intuition and influenced by what I have contemplated in the natural world and through spiritual study. The aim is to have something be revealed that just feels like it belongs. It is a visionary quest to enter through doorways to Spirit. During the process of creating I try to keep a feeling of wonder and wander. That helps me push pictorial possibility to a final surprising result.
